The mission of African Heritage Collection is to bring unique and classically styled African furnishings and decorative accessories to the international market.

To achieve this, we employ an in-house talent pool of carvers who brainstorm and work exclusively on our new product ideas and concepts. This pool is comprised of experienced and talented artisans we discovered over the years. We also work with select and highly skilled craft villages, cooperatives, and businesses to develop unique products.

Most of our products are made in Ghana, West Africa. As the company CEO and a native of Ghana, I personally travel throughout the country to select and approve many of the pieces on this website. My knowledge of the local conditions and life-long relationship with the carving community has created an unprecedented partnership to bring unique products to market.

Quality control is a fundamental part of our mission statement. We implement a rigid two-stage quality control process to ensure that the products are of the highest quality. Stage one occurs in Ghana where our warehouse staff inspects each piece against our design, moisture, and tropical benchmarks. Stage two is completed when the products arrive in the United States.

Our products are crafted using various types of premium African hardwood, including Ebony (known as Iron wood), Sese, Mansonia, Cedar, Mahogany, Sapele, Shedua, and Tweneboa. The selection of wood depends on availability, and the requirements of the carving process. Because each item is handcrafted, there may be slight variances in size, shape, and finish. No two products are alike; each piece reflects the type of wood and the creativity of the carver. African Heritage Collection conforms to all the environmental and legal requirements in our production and carving processes.
